Complete EDI Outsourcing
AMOS (Advance Managed Outsourced Solutions) aims to provide our clients with the full range of EDI or electronic trading functionality. Whether it be just one map set-up to exchange one additional document type with one additional trading partner, to a fully outsourced EDI operation. The centrally hosted Advance Information Broker provides us with the functionality, security and reliability to offer our customers the full range of outsourced solutions.

There is increasing pressure on our clients to exchange a variety of document types with a variety of customers or suppliers based on numerous different systems which require numerous different communication methods. All this when companies are under increasing pressure to comply with a multitude of security and audit requirements (such as SOX compliance) along with a desire to be seen to respond quickly and positively to the requirements of important customers.
In light of the above you need to ask yourself whether it would be beneficial in both cost and efficiency to outsource the complete operation of your EDI (electronic trading) capability.
The main reasons for considering a total outsourced solution maybe: -
- – A reduction in operating cost
- – To improve your responsiveness to important customers
- – To allow us to manage the increasing complexities for you
- – To reduce your frustration and increase trading partner satisfaction
- – To allow your business to focus on its core activities
Do you need to satisfy any of the following requirements? : -
- Direct point to point EDI
- Additional communication via EDI VANs
- To trade electronically with small to medium sized customers or suppliers
- Secure Intra company data file transfers
- Specialist maps to be written
- A new method of communication with a trading partner
- Secure managed file transfer either internally or externally with other companies
- Web Service Integration
- Data Synchronisation
If so we should be talking as we can help you will all the above.
How does AMOS work?
1 - Your company needs to setup a simple, secure and auditable connection to AMOS. We would recommend AMMX (Advance Managed Message eXchange) for this purpose.
2 – We will then set up trading partner profiles of all your trading partners in the centrally hosted AIB (Advance Information Broker). This will tell us which document and which format each of your trading partners will expect to receive and which document formats they will be sending back to you and via what method you will be exchanging documents with that trading partner (e.g. EDI or AS2).
3 – We will then set up maps within AMOS which accept the format your systems produce and generate the format required by your trading partner. Equally we will set up maps that accept your trading partner formats and generate the format which can be directly accepted by your systems.
4 – You then just send us a single file of (say) all outbound invoices and we distribute them all to each customer in the formats they require and in return we will send you all their orders in a format which you can pass straight through into your internal sales/order processing system. This can of course be extended to other document types.
5 – For each document and transmission we can provide you with a full audit trail via AMMX which will confirm receipt of your document by your trading partner, transformation of your document by AMOS and confirm that it was secure and encrypted etc en-route. The level of audit we can provide is clearly dependent on what system your customers or suppliers decide to use.
So as in the diagram above you only need manage one point of connection into and out of your business directly through to AMOS we can then provide you with access to a world of different electronic trading methodologies to communicate your business documents to any trading partners who you have a need to trade with.
One additional benefit of an outsourced solution via AMOS is that at any time you can decide to take your electronic trading operation back in-house should you wish to do so.
